  • Bruce Kurka , DVM

        Dr. Kurka received his DVM degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1973. Before graduating, Dr.Kurka did his internships at The St. Louis Zoo and Humane Society of Missouri. After graduating, he practiced general medicine at Northwest Animal Hospital in Bridgeton, and Jefferson Animal Hospital in St. Louis. Before opening Chippewa Animal Hospital in 1981, he also practiced as a partner at Belkin Animal Hospital in St. Louis.

        Dr. Kurka is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, American Heartworm Society, and Greater St.Louis Veterinary Medical Association.

        When not caring for pets at Chippewa Animal Hospital, he enjoys playing golf, and volunteering for the Boy Scouts and Knights of Columbus. He is also a board member for the Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department and Knights of Columbus.

  • Steve Pendino, DVM

        Dr. Pendino received his DVM degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1972.  After five years of general practice in Granite City, Illinios, he moved to Plover, Wisconsin and established Oakview Pet Hospital.  In 1989, Dr. Pendino moved back to St. Louis and joined the staff at Chippewa Animal Hospital.  He also taught for three years in the Veterinary Technician Program at Jefferson College.
        Dr. Pendino is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Assoication, the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the greater St. Louis Veterinary medical Association.
        When not caring for pets at Chippewa Animal Hospital, he enjoys fishing and woodworking.
